I agree with the people who say that learning on your own is better than learning in a class. It's just too hard to master a language without immersing yourself in it, and a class can't provide that.

Best and fastest way to learn is to start with Kanji (Heisig's method). THEN, once you know the kanji, you start doing EVERYTHING in japanese.
