Any recommendations for a short edgy anime, 12 to 24 episodes? I am on holiday and have some time at hand. I last watched Another, recommended by the anime geeks at my school but since school is closed I can't ask them :-)!

Haha. I just finished watching Another myself. I thought it was cool. The artwork is amazing.
I don't know if you've seen Hanasaku Iroha...it's not edgy though. It can be categorized as a slice of life type show akin to Honey & Clover and Kimi ni Todoke.

Artwork is crisp and well done, too.
Really? Funny! Yeah I liked Another: mystery, short, with a twist. My kind of anime. But I liked and watched H&C and liked and read the Kimi ni Todoke manga! I'll check out Hanasaku ... Thanks!

No problem. You're welcome. I recommended Hanasaku to Eve and she enjoyed it as well. I think you'll like it.

After finishing Another and Hanasaku Iroha I was a bit at loss and checked out a few recommendations from anime otakus here in Tokyo.
Shiki - vampires take over a remote village and a few people realise what's going on ... it's just a hopeless story, will the heros be able to win? Not to keen on artwork too. Gackt is one of the voice actors.
Mirai Nikki: hated it because the main character is such a tool and the other characters are creepy too! Death Note meets Battle Royale. Dropped it at episode 8.
Hyouka: winner of the season, mystery solving high schoolers with lovely artwork, only 4 episodes are out but so far I am loving it. It's a bit like Haruhi minus Aliens, Espers and Time Travellers.

Hehe. I've seen Iroha, Another and Shiki...I liked them in best in that order.

i recommend "Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai"..really a touching anime...one of the best anime that i've ever seen..i bet even a heartless guy will cry if he watched this anime
synopsis: Five childhood friends grow apart after the death of Meiko Honma, close playmate of them all. Jinta Yadomi, leader of the group when they were kids, neglects high school and lives as a shut-in when he unexpectedly starts seeing the ghost of Meiko, who can only interact with him and no one else. She has returned to ask Jinta to fulfill the forgotten wish she made as a kid.[/b] _________________

Finished the last episode of Bleach which had been sitting on my hard drive for over two months. Can't believe this show is finally over. I've been watching it over 15 seasons, spanning 8 years! Dayem I'm old.

Just as great the third time around.
Watching Kuroko's BAsketball recommended by Tu. But they only have 10 eps available so far.
And now checking out a serious shojo anime called White Album. SO far so good as of ep 4.
I'm working on Monster off of Netflix. A well regarded anime on Netflix with Japanese subs not lame ass dubs. It's a great murder mystery joint. It's 70+ episodes so I have a long way to go...but it's quite engaging thus far.
