Finally started watching some of this season's offerings...Overall not too bad. One I like the best is Saigo Kara Nibanme no Koi. Really like Koizumi Kyoko and Nakai Kiichi in their roles. Supporting cast is good too.
I'm watching it as well. Sounds like you like it more than I do. I really like Nakai's character but Koizumi's character is kind of irritating. Especially when shes in Tokyo with her girlfriends. And I'm still trying to figure out Uchida. She's kind of a homeless bag lady except she still lives at home. And what's with that hair???

I kind of like that she's a "tell it like it is" person. And I think the conversations with her girlfriends commiserating are funny.

Especially the part where she brings her writer to meet the girlfriends and them trying to bring her down to their level saying that they were like her before.
And the looks on their faces when the writer said the she's married.

That I don't know. Guess she's kind of the "black sheep" of the family. But funny.
And the first conversations between Koizumi and Nakai kind of reminded me of Abe and Natsukawa in Kekkon Dekinai Otoko.
There hasn't been too many good Jdrama romantic comedies lately (I guess it's somewhat a comedy) but so far this is one of the more enjoyable ones I've watched in a while.

True. I'm going to keep watching. Looks like some drama coming up with Sekiguchi.
It's definitely better than Stepfather Step. Up thru epi 4 of that one. Even though he's been around forever, I've never considered Kamikawa an "A list" leading man. The twins aren't real good and Manami Konishi can't do comedy. It's not a bad drama, just not a very good one.
I thought Lucky Seven is a good watch until Eita disappeared and now, the whole show becomes a Kindaichi in sheep's clothing.
Just read Jade Frost's coverage on Tonbi. Glad to see Tsutsumi Shinichi in drama again. oh great, he lost some weight but he still looks older than Nakai Kiichi
Not much to say about this one. The only one that's not a cardboard cutout and bringing some personality to his character is Shiro Ito.
The plot (such as it is) is kind of a mess as well. At the end of episode 5 it looked like Manami would confront her ex-husband (thru flashbacks we knows there's some issues there), but then in episode 6 the writer said, "Hey, we haven't given Aya Hirayama anything to do, let's have an episode for her!!" and Manami and her ex aren't mentioned at all.

First couple of eps of Bunshin. So far an interesting show.
Agree! I just watched the first ep and so far it's really interesting! I really wanna know what happen to her hole family situation!
Also finsihed ep 18 of Carnation so good! It's one of my new favorites! and now we are finally in the 1930s It's funny seeing everyone so amazed by technology like Radios, sewing machines, little music boxes but since its based of the real life fashion designer i'm scared for these next 15 years comming for her!
Keeps getting better. Episode 7 was great. As of now ranks right behind Kekkon Dekinai Otoko for my favorite Jdrama romantic comedies.
Because I've started recording dramas for my uncle and friend's mom, I've been watching (or trying to get through ) a few more dramas than usual. Hayami-san to Yobareru Hi not bad, Hungry! ok, the food does look great, Lucky Seven mediocre at best, Renai Neet too early to tell, Saikou no Jinsei no Owarikata tough to watch with Yamapi in it.. , and Dirty Mama! only because of Nagasaku Hiromi, not great.
We only show 3 actors for this one, Masahiro Motoki, Takako Matsu, and Yoko Maki, but there are a lot more in this and a lot of good ones!
Kinya Kitaoji, Yutaka Matsushige, Taizo Harada, Masato Ibu, Toshiro Yanagiba to name a few. In fact, other than Matsu, Maki and the two kids that play Matsu's sons, I don't think there's anybody else under the age of 40 in the cast. And I'm loving it!!
