Finished up Control, like I mentioned really nothing special about it, too predicatable and some weak storylines but the last 4 episodes were fairly good, despite the problems with it actually enjoyed it, worth a watch if you're wavering on it but could have been a bit better.
Heh, glad to know someone else enjoyed Control. I got through it fairly quickly as well, nothing fantastic but quite enjoyable all the same. Hadn't seen Kashiwabara Takashi since Shukumei and he put in a good turn here. Fujiki's hair was horrible but I did like his quirky professor role.
On the last legs of Slow Dance. Hirosue Ryoko and her character drive me nuts. _________________

Finished the third Detective Conan special. This one was from earlier this year, is like a prequal to the 2011 series. It has a different cast from the two 2006 specials. I prefere Oguri Shun as Shinichi and Kurokawa Tomoka as Ran from the 2006 specials. However, this one had a much better story than the first two specials. The case was kinda spooky and yet emotional towards the end. That makes it the best of the three specials so far. I'm really looking forward to the series to see what this cast can do and if there's any more engaging stories. _________________

Was thinking along those lines too about Fujiki's hair, way too long, looked like a lunatic at times but he was still good in it, surprised with all those nean buns didn't gain a lot of weight.
Didn't realize that was Takashi until you mentioned it, looked quite different in Control, Shota no Sushi and Big Wing are 2 goodies he's in.
PS- Why does everyone seem to put down Ryoko here? _________________

Seems like we both enjoy the Dynasty Warriors-games, then. Can't wait for 7: Xtreme Legends! And my favorite Wu character is Sun Shang Xiang, my favorite Shu character is Zhao Yun, as well. My favorite Wei character would have to be Zhen Ji, I think. For Jin, I choose Sima Zhao and for the other secion, I would say the choice would have to be a combination of Lu Bu and Diao Chan.
But this isn't really the right place to talk about all that. We're going off-topic!
Which platform do you play on? PlayStation 3? Or Xbox 360? Because It'd be an honor to add you on either of the online networks...
And on-topic:
I'm currently watching no Drama's. Shame on me!
I'm sure you spotted my mistake Sima Yi is of course from Wei and Jin and not Wu
Lu Bu And Diao chan that's a interesting combination of brawn and beauty. I use the PS3 and xbox 360 but am not registered on line as it will distract me from jlpt exams I'm going to have a go at N2 this December but am not very confident
Just seen Asami Mitsuhiko special 26 Tsuwano Satsujin Jiken, Sawamura Ikki's a lucky guy meeting always meeting attractive women like Katou Natsuki.

Currently watching Dosokai. What a terrific cast.
It's nice watching a drama where all the actors are old enough to remember who Ronald Reagan was.
I finished it last night. The last episode is really good!
I was curious who wrote this so I looked it up and it's Yumiko Inoue. She's not in the same league as Eriko Kitagawa, but she's written some good dramas: Gift, Shiroi Kyoto, Engine, 14 sai no Haha, Pandora, and Samurai High School. Prettty good resume there.

Episode 4 of Dare Yori mo Mama wo Aisu, that was one of the more incredible episodes I've ever seen in all the dramas I've watched, it's a serious yet light hearted show but it did such a 180 where it became so dark, depressing and violent, it all came out of nowhere. _________________

Thru episode 3 of Freeter, Ie o Kau. So far, all I know for sure is, the Dad is an asshole, the Mom is going nuts, the next door neighbor is a biatch, and Karina has great legs.

That works for me.
Still on Dosokai.
Love the leads. They are terrific. _________________

Rewatching Youkame no Semi. Strong acting by Dan Rei and Goro Kishitani. I also like Kitano Kiie in this one. Beautifully shot and an interesting story.

Episode 7 of Freeter. The Dad has gone from being an asshole to just being a jerk. Nino has a pretty good collection of rock and roll tshirts. So far I've counted 4 different Rolling Stones, 2 Grateful Dead, a Bon Jovi and an AC/DC.
The season must have changed to fall now because Karina is wearing boots.
Edit: Episode 8 and another Rolling Stones t-shirt.

Well, I don't know what she's like in real life, but god her acting annoys me. And it doesn't help that in Slow Dance her character was so irritating. I could not believe Fujiki's character fell for a girl like that. There were so many times I wanted to bitchslap her character to Timbuctoo.

Think Slow Dance and Beach Boys are the only dramas where she didnt drive me nuts.
She already put me off since Beach Boys! She's the biggest reason why I still can't bring myself to rewatch the drama.
Have started episode 1 of Love Shuffle, but am not particularly drawn to the characters or storyline. Tanihara Shosuke's character is meh and I don't like Matsuda Shota. Dunno if I should keep watching. _________________

I think Hirosue Ryoko is a solid actress. Some of the characters she's played in J-Dramas have been annoying at times (particularly Moto Kare and Dekichatta Kekkon for the first three episodes), but I also think she can be quite fun and likable as well, particularly on Summer Snow, Otousan, and the French movie Wasabi. I think her acting skills are pretty solid. She can show a range of emotions, adds depth to her characters, and can even act in a language she basically knows nothing about (French). _________________

^^ Good, another fan. She does a solid job on her dramas, problem is not all of them are all that good except for Dekkon, Triangle and Otousan, actually have always thought she does best in movies, besides Wasabi check out Bubble Fiction, Poppoya or Departures, all really good films.
Completed Dare Yori mo Mama wo Aisu, went in with only medium expectations which were surpassed, really like it when you find a drama that you think will only be a time killer but comes out to be a real winner. Really superb job by the cast, the father had the biggest role but everyone else's role was almost as big and they all had interesting, some funny, some sad, storylines. _________________

I'd have watched the Marumo no Okite SP yesterday but of course I'm stuck in California. Anyone see it? Was it as good as the regular series? New Ai-chin song comes out yesterday, new Marumo special...and I can't get either one. Argh!
