Yeah, The reason why he went to AC Milan is to be in top form for the World Cup. (I don't understand the MLS schedule, but I think the Korean & Japanese leagues are the same. I guess they're trying to be different from the rest of the football/soccer world) I agree it has to suck for him, this was probably his last world cup. It has to be frustrating knowing you had the capability to play and now you won't.

Becks and the World Cup don't have a good history.

My memories of the 2002 World Cup say otherwise. I still remember that one to nothing loss to England. Grumble

lol at Lyon and Bordeaux drawing each other. At least a Ligue 1 team will make the semis. hehe

Those are indeed some juicy matchups. Messi has been lights out for Barca so it'll be interesting to see how he does against Wenger's men. Honestly, I'm happy Chelsea are out, can't stand them (Yes Mr. Russian Billionaire, spending over 100m for Fernando Torres and other players will net you the Champs League... why bother with your academy and reserve team anymore? Shake Head )

Looking forward to West Ham/Arsenal tomorrow. I love my beloved Hammers, but I'll be shocked if they came away with a point. Coca-Cola Championship here we come! Victory! Peace!

UEFA Champions League. Inter eliminates CSKA Moscow. Barcelona defeats Arsenal. Messi is unstoppable right now, I just hope he doesn't get burned out before the World Cup.

Messi isn't getting all banged up by multiple defenders marking him as we discussed before? Hehe.

Maybe it is a wishful thinking but i have a feeling that Inter will win the Champions League. Messi is, well Messi is Messi but Mourinho has what it takes to stop him. Inter knows how to defence, Eto'o knows Barcelona, Mourinho (probably) knows how to stop Messi so, it will be interesting clash.

Soccer Stars Sleeping In Altitude Tents To Prep For World Cup

Outside of the U.S., soccer is taken quite seriously. So seriously, it turns out, that members of England's national team will soon sleep in oxygen-deprivation tents to prepare for their high-altitude matches at the upcoming World Cup in South Africa.

The players are subjected to a variety of creepy tests at the team's Hertfordshire "hotel," which basically sounds like that facility where Drago trained in Rocky IV. That's fitting, though, because I've always imagined the U.S. national team preparing for the World Cup by getting together at a cabin and heaving some big logs around.

At the facility, England's players ride exercise bikes with masks that limit the amount of oxygen they can breath. Those who huff and puff a little too hard will have the oxygen-deprivation tents delivered to their homes, so they can gradually acclimatize their bodies to low-oxygen, high-altitude conditions. Matches at this summer's World Cup will take place at heights of up to 5,000 feet above sea level, and the tents can precisely match that altitude with a hypoxic pump that flushes 100 liters of air through the tent every minute.

Professionally handsome footballer David Beckham slept in an oxygen-regulated tent before the 2002 World Cup to help heal a broken foot (his provided him with more air), and the World Anti-Doping Agency considered whether or not to ban the practice for giving teams an unfair advantage. They didn't rule against use of the tents, however, and now, somewhere in England, Wayne Rooney is complaining about this being the worst camping trip ever.

Bayern Munich becomes the first finalist in the UCL, defeating Lyon 3-0. I was expecting Lyon to put up for of a fight considering they were playing at home. But Lyon looked lost in this game.

Man, our turkish football league ended so crazy, I still can't believe that it is real.

"Bursaspor team, also nicknamed as the Crocodiles, have become the Champion of 2009-10 Turkcell Super League after having a victory of 2-1 against Besiktas;. Since Trabzonspor last won the league in the 1983-84 season, only the big three Istanbul clubs, Fenerbahce, Galatasaray, and Besiktas; have had a stranglehold on Turkish top flight football championships. Bursaspor has put its name on the list with the Championship as the 5th clubc

The most interesting moment of Sunday occured when Fenerbahce supporters rushed to the field after a wrong announcement and started rejoicing thinking their team had become the champion. The happiness lasted too short and ended up in realisation of mistake, and in tears."

here is that "false victory" moment of Fenerbahce: rofl

I saw that game...they actually broadcast it on our local FOX tv channel...I was kinda surprised they did that. Bayern could never really get back into the game, especially after the second goal.

Pellegrini is out now so it is %99 certain that he is in Real Madrid. This year Barcelona-Real Madrid games will be extra interesting, Barcelona with Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, Ibrahimovic and now David Villa (and probably Fabregas too) vs Real Madrid with Ronaldo, Kaka, Higuain, Benzema and ofcourse Mourinho. 2010/2011 is going to be a crazy season.

I wonder if Benzema will even be used. I heard that Mourinho might want to bring Milito with him.

I don't think he would bring Milito to Madrid, maybe Maicon, but Higuain is enough to score goals. Benzema is definitely unhappy but he can play at left wing also, maybe Mourinho can use him in a 4-3-3 formation on winger-forward position with Higuain in center and Ronaldo at right. My opinion is that the center mitfield guys in Real Madrid are a little bit weak for a Mourinho team, so maybe there can be some change on that part. I'm a Manchester United fan so I hope that they sell Benzema and Diarra to United, we need them more heh. Mr Green
