Must be one of those movies sitting on a shelf that the studio didn't know what to do with... Sweat

I can't work out why it wasn't more popular. Everyone I have spoken to (in person) has loved it.

Ever since Paul Newman passed away I've been going thru some of his movies on DVD. Watched Butch Cassidy, , , over the weekend. Last night I watched the 2nd DVD that had all the "Making of", interviews and what not. Lots of interesting stuff. It was supposed to be Newman with Steve McQueen but they got in big to-do about billing, McQueen thought he should be billed ahead of Newman when they couldn't resolve that McQueen dropped out. At first, Newman thought he was playing Sundance and the director (George Roy Hill) told him, "No, you're playing Butch." After McQueen dropped out, they thought about getting Brando, Warren Beatty, some other actors. The only guy that wanted Redford was the director, Hill and he had to fight the studio like crazy on that, they wanted a "star".
I love those extra DVD's sometimes they're more interesting than the movie. Applaud

Extra info on movies can be a problem.

I liked the movie "Rainman" with Hoffman and Cruise. Then I found out that the part of the slick car salesman brother was written for Bill Murray. He had to drop out, and Cruise got the part.

Ever since I heard that, every time I see parts of the movie I find myself imagining what those scenes would have looked like with Murray in them... and it just seems to make so much more sense to me.

Somehow I can't picture Bill Murray in that role at all.

I took the Mrs and my eldest daughter to see "He's Just Not That Into You"
(Drew Barrymore, Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Connolly, various himbos) - their choice of course.

Can anyone say "Chick Flick"? hehe

It wasn't TOO bad though. Ginnifer Goodwin runs rings around the rest of them, and is much cuter than Aniston, Connelly and even Scarlett Johansen Smile

I used to love Scarlet - in her Ghost World period - now I just think she's a blonde airhead.

OT: I can recommend Slumdog Millionaire - as always with a Danny Boyle, the music is excellent (the story even better Mr Green ).

Is Ginnifer the one who played Gigi? I LUFFED her. She was my fav. Aniston's story was romantic and cute, but yea. I wanted to slap Scarlet every time she was on screen. Shake Head

@Esther: I really enjoyed Slumdog, but I felt it weakened as the plot progressed. The beginning was AMAZING, and although it was good overall, it sorta lost the amazing for me somewhere near the middle.

Well deserving of its nominations, tho.

Hmmm... I still haven't seen Benjamin Button.

That's the one. She's adorable! That was one of the problems I had with the movie:

This is true. But it's mainly because there's no confirmation. As was her case for a long time.

But you're rare. I was told today that good guys never get the girls. But it's because good guys always want the thin, pretty blond girls (no offense to thin, pretty blond girls).

What about the rest of us good girls who don't quite have all the assets?
