Hmm... I feel a bit offended, with that "free car" quiz. It might means the producer doesn't believe in Kimura's "Rating Man" Power anymore xD Seem like they desperately do whatever things to increase the ratings
Can't wait to download the episode!!^^
Ryokiteki was great too yesterday... too bad the ratings keep drowning I read some Japanese fans comments abt Ryokiteki and seem like they're really not interested in it... _________________

frankly speaking, me too. I was not sure to be happy about it or not. I am not happy that they are trying to win viewers this way, but I would be happy to win the car. I don't think Mr Kimura is happy about it himself.
Kimura san is ltreasure of company and his label is king of Jdorama.
Moreover, It's around 10 years(may be more) that his drama always get the highest rating of the season.(even of the year)
In addition, Gokusen3 has a good start(around 26%).Both fujitv and JE can't risk his reputation with low rating .... I think.
Low rating means lower than other drama and lower than 20%. (high standard, isn't it ?)
Did you remember about one episode of ENGINE ? it got rating lower than 20%(about 19%) because the news about train accident aired at the same time. Just one episode lower than 20 ....The Press treat the rating like it was very big big deal.
For conclusion, he CAN'T lose anyway. For the sake of agency .. For the sake of tv station .. For the sake of fan
I think he didn't satisfy with this way of promotion, too.

Rating for first episode is out: 23.8%
Good rating in normal standards, but "low" in Kimura standards....*sigh*. Moreover it's lower than Gokusen 3 (this week's rating around 25%). Hopefully it will get higher for later episodes....I, for one, can't wait to see episode 1!

I was expecting above 30%! This is somehow disappointing... _________________

For TBS ... Sunday 9 is the best timeslot. Each station has its special time for its promising drama ex. fuji tv for getsu9, TBS for sunday 9, Ntv for sat 9 and so on.
They try to aviod the crash of their potentail drama.

Don't worry about the rating, it may be a low start but always in the end Takuya will be the best actor and the rating is zooming every week. and about the car promotion Toyota is just riding in our Prime Minister's popularity _________________

Hisashiburi minna... Long time I din log in here..
About the Change rating,, fans from different forums comment that itz because of the China earthquake.. People are watching the news instead of the drama that time.. So,, hopefully it can go higher..
People are comparing Kimura with Gokusen,, and also with Galileo.. Also,, saying that SMAP's season passed... _________________

J-TV is far from what it was ten years ago.
This also means that getting ratings to something like 30 is extremely hard. CHANGE might have a chance, we'll see how it goes.
There were imporntant news-broadcasts at the drama's airing time. And even if they had no effect, what it got, was good.
Then we have the issues of computers and how easy it is to watch everything with them (with the vice-tracking in Japan being totally.. out of hand).
And, of course, staring at ratings which is never a good thing to focus on.
It's like viewing the J-music industry for what they sale in physical sales (i.e. completely out of order).
Comparing CHANGE to G3 (people don't seem to understand the cult-reputation the show has. It has got nothing to do with the acting, plot or other good (..there are ones..?) sides. It just is what it is. "cult.") is totally out of this world
Zng with the drama-rumours floating around. I want my Nakai-drama in 2008. _________________

Rating for CHANGE 2nd episode: 23%
Even though it still didn't beat Gokusen (25%-ish), it stayed pretty consistent from last week. (What's up with Gokusen anyways, maybe it does have a cult following? The plot of 3rd season is the same as 1st and 2nd season, nothing new or original, so although it was decent to watch I just don't get why it gets such high rating)
For Northern California smappies, Bushi no Ichibun will be shown in SF and Fremont starting mid-June!! My parents bought back a postcard from an Asian grocery store that advertised this--I will try to post an image when I get home--it has a Kimura pic on it!! Although I already have the VCD at home, I might still go watch it in the theatre just because I have never seen Kimura's film in an U.S. theatre before!
23% is just fine as long as it won't get low continously but now i'm not much affected only if there are negative talks against kimura-kun I can't help myself to beat this people...
