MUSA! ARIGATO!

What a pleasent surprise when I arrived home and found a package from you! The T-shirts you picked up were great! And thanks so much for the CDs! You really made my day for thinking about getting me stuff from the festival, since I couldn't make it. glomp Muack

Dang, she doesn't even look Asian, much less Japanese.

Wasn't there a big scrum about (last 20 years, maybe) Nisei Week Queens looking more Caucasian than Japanese?

You'd think the voters (whom I'd think are Japanese) would've been a little more Nihon-centric? Head Scratch

Well, it's just a photo. Real-life, in-person is different.

When I meet the Nisei Week 2007 court later I'll let you know what I think, but the 2006 court was impressive.

In terms of heritage, I believe the most recent applications stated that one has to be of at least 50% Japanese heritage and born in the USA.

This weekend (11/23-11/25) the Kinokuniya's in Little Tokyo and Costa Mesa are having their annual Thanksgiving weekend sale, everything 10% off. Haven't been to Kinokuniya in awhile, so I dunno if any of the calendars are in yet.

2 items of interest: The Beard Papa's has opened over where the Mitsuwa is in Little Tokyo (they're hiring if you're desperate for a minimum wage job) and The Japan Expo is coming up on 12/1-12/2 at the L.A. Convention Center. Link here:http://www.japanexpo.org/

I've been watching the ads for the Japan Expo. Do you know if they allow camcorders and/or cameras?
