I'd like to highly recommend a documentary entitled Big Drum: Taiko in the United States. It was produced this year in conjunction with a major exhibition put on by the Japanese American National Museum. As the title suggests, this documentary is about the history of Taiko (Japanese drum) in the United States. It's well organized, extremely informative, and very entertaining. One of the most interesting chapters deals with how American taiko have influenced Japanese taiko such as world-famous Kodo. A little bit like the student teaching the master. There's a lot of extra features on this DVD which includes actual performances from some of the big-name Taiko groups in America (San Francisco Taiko, Kinnara Taiko (Los Angeles), and San Jose Taiko), an in-depth look at Taiko in the islands (Hawaii, to you non-locals), and a fascinating home movie shot in 1954 of obon festival in Sacramento. If you enjoy taiko or want to know more about this ancient Japanese instrument and how it became adapted among the Nikkei, you will want to watch this documentary.

I'd recommend Takeshi's Zatoichi.
I liked it so much that I watched it at the cinema twice (although I usually never go to the cinema), and then when it was released as a DVD, I watched it 2 times more.
I think it's a perfect movie.
