Hello, everybody! I'm located in Maryland right now, but I'm originally from California (raised in SoCal and last resided in the SF Bay area). My interest in Japanese drama started almost a decade ago while I was still in college (yep, I'm an old lady), when I would catch a subtitled show on TV every once in awhile. It wasn't until these past couple of years with the wonderful invention of bittorrent that I've been able to get a hold of various titles and have finally been able to watch some classics like Long Vacation, etc.
It's cool to have this site around -- I've met some nice traders/distributors here and there're all sorts of interesting discussions. Anyway, just wanted to say "Hi!"

Space Godzilla & blakmetalik: welcome to jdorama!
Space: puerto rican & japanese mix. that's pretty cool. are you able to speak in both languages?
blakmetalik: you must've gotten 'long vacation' from jtv. on the same site (drama.afraid.org), there's JEM's side also - with more drama. and another great place for asian dramas is www.d-addicts.com.

Thanks for the welcome and info! Have definitely discovered JEM and D-addicts. In fact, I'm on constant dl/ul with torrents from all 3 sites. (O_O) It seems like it's never ending! I'm interested in trying out other types of drama as well, like Korean, Taiwanese, etc., but I think I'm going to stick with Japanese for now. I took Japanese in college, so it's one nice way to remain exposed to the language. I'm having to rely on whatever (little) Japanese skills I have left to understand the show I'm currently watching - Antique. The English subtitles, to put it mildly, aren't so good. (~_~)
