Interesting how it is in the world, in america there is a boom for japanese anime, while there is a boom for korean dramas in japan right now ^^
especially winter sonata is really popular and the main character (they call him yon-sama in japan hehe ) is reeeeally popular. when he visited japan there were like 5000 women waiting for him at the airport..and most of them where like over 40 years old Bleah

Yeah, Kdramas are a big hit in asia these days. Not as popular as anime though but more than jdramas, imo.

i thinks its coz of the plot. Kdrama plots tend to have a bit simpler more down-to-earth plots with focus on romance (and yes, more often than not, there's that death by cancer thing going on). Jdramas on the other hand usually tends to deal more with complex issues (abortion, rape, prostitution); subjects that are usually uncomfortable for ppl in conservative cultures...

Have to admit, I started out with jdramas but I'm watching a lot more kdramas lately. Series like bodyguard, punch, lover in paris, Ms kins 1 billion won project and love letter are on my most wanted list right now. On the other hand, only the jdrama series Trick is what i'm looking forward to. well, maybe inspector mariko as well.

Don't say you were never told.

Just in time for Christmas . . . it's the Yong Joon Bae action figure: http://www.kojun.co.kr/V2/gallery/view.jsp?big_code=1&small_code=0&code=73
