So why don't you just go out and get the episodes and watch them?

Google is your friend. Trick is to enter in the search engine:
"long vacation" synopsis "episode 1"
The above brought the synopsis link as the #1 choice.
TIP ON GOOGLE SEARCHING: When you put a phrase in double quotations, Google will find a match for that phrase, rather than showing you tons of pages that contain the word "long" and "vacation". Same thing with "episode 1", where usually a synopsis posting will contain that phrase.

My same thoughts! It could be that the person does know of or have the English subbed set, but he'd rather know everything about Long Vacation before watching the first episode. I actually know a few people who are like this... They'd only watch a sports game if they know the final score ahead of time (i.e. hell, my favorite team lost, so why bother watching it???) IMHO, that's a really silly way of going about the entire Japanese drama experience.
However, like Saburo was getting at, Long Vacation is part of that "essentials" package of dramas that EVERY Japanese drama fan must have at least watched. You can pass up on all the other stuff like Younger Men or Loved to Love, but Long Vacation is one you cannot pass up on.

I know people like that, it is called stress. They get so anxious watching a sporting event or even a movie.

HUH????? Are you watching a dubbed version???? I didn't even know such an animal existed. FYI, you can download a DVD-rip of Long Vacation, complete with original audio.

Hey, gang! I'd like to suggest stopping this downloading dialog and refer Dabbies to the JTV forum:
http://kikuchiyo.net/jtv/index.php
There, he can ask the members there more specifics about BitTorrent and downloading of torrents from the JTV tracker. He'll get better help there.
