On tv
I remember when I was small kiddo back then. Mom took me to a toy store a few days before Christmas. There was this "real" Father Christmas sittin on the chair and queues were huge. I waited for some time and finally it was my turn to wish. I sat on his lap and he asked me what I wanted for a christmas present. I was so nervous and didn't know what to wish for. instead of thinkin I accidentally pulled his beard off
Oh Boy! He got embarrased in front of the kids. "That is no real Father Christmas!"
He said to me playfully "You've been a naughty boy this Christmas! I cannot give you a big present this time!" He gave me a lollipop instead!
My first and last time with Father Christmas

Hehe! it's not that far away, depends on where you look at it
This is how it all began (Pemu's history in brief):
It started from the video games, I used to play lotsa 2D beat em ups and PRGs. RPGs got manga characters with their big eyes and cuteness. Anime and manga got took my attention. After watched and read numerous of series, I loved anime music. Had to find out the musicians who were behind such great series! I listened to a lot of anime music as Japanese culture drew me closer and closer.
Started studyin about Japanese culture, a self study
The culture study consisted of music, people, etiquettes, landscapes, travel, movies (not drama yet), business and industry, not much of history and contemporary Japan. From anime music I got accidentally lost in Idols . It was a coincidence. I was browsin for Japanese gilrly sites *ahem* on the net. I found an "idol" named Kyoko Fukada with lotsa pics!
Oh boy! she really did impress me with her appearance
Started lookin for more info on Kyoko. Found out she was also a singer and actress, not only a pose idol. searched her songs on WinMx (or was it Napster, dun remember). Many songs displayed on the screen, didn't know which song to pick. I chose "Saigo no Kajitsu". The song really rocked my boat (although I dun own a boat )
I was totally sold! I became a Kyoko fan back then. My interest in idols strengthened significantly ->more idols and Japanese culture too.
Kyoko did acting too, in movies and "dramas", didn't care and know about dramas back then.
Fell in love with Japan and its culture and decided to visit there in Spring. Before the trip I read a lot of books and articles on Japan! I was well prepared for it.
Lucky me, great timin it was, "Hanami"!
I remember the time I stepped out of the train station in Tokyo. I was totally shocked, one helluva shot of culture shockl! Everything was so "different" and "reverse"! Crowd, huge buildings, weather, atmosphere, everything!
A week in Tokyo and Yokohama! The trip went smoothly, browsed thru Tokyo, Yokohama and a small city on the outskirt. Thanks to my well planned itinenary and the trusty Tokyo-map from the tourist information centre!
I remember the "clash between the jpop empress Ayumi Hamasaki and princess Hikaru Utada" They both released their albums on the same day. The advertise war appeared on the street scene! Ayu was more splendid!I couldn't care less about the clash, bought both album, got +6000 yen poorer
Bought some idol books and other merchandise.
After the trip, got madly into jpop! Jpop here, jpop there and jpop everywhere! I discovered more jpop artists and bands each week!
Got interested in dramas after seein some japanese movies. Wanted to try out dramas if they were good. Found accidentally an irc channel which served some dramas. GTO was my first drama experience! Have never forgotten the feelin when I saw it. Since then I got hooked on dramas. Started collectin and watchin dramas since the day!
Pemu, a jdrama fan since 2002, yes, quite a newbie.
Known jdorama.com for few a years. Many fave idols changed for the past years! There is one and only idol I have never changed my feelings toward her! *can't reveal her name*
Thanks for the people who bothered to read my dull post!
