post up some screen caps.
but i would think that 4 would be too much. 3 episodes would be good, or even 2 episodes would be better.
On a B quality video e.g. JEM's early stuff I usually fit around 4 episodes a DVD (MPEG-2 352x480 29.97fps CBR ~2700kbps, MP2 48kHz 384kbps) and it comes out looking fairly decent.
For A quality stuff I tend to go with 2 episodes per DVD.

With tmpgenc plus, I've been using MPEG-2 720x480 29.97fps CQ 75, Layer-2 48000Hz 192kbps...
I figured 192kbps was fine for broadcast audio and 384 was overkill. I chose CQ (constant quality) mode over CBR (constant bit rate) since CQ mode would give me better overall video quality through the entire episode...
As you can see there doesn't seem to be much of a visible difference from CQ=100 (2.3GB), CQ=80 (1.4GB) and a CQ=75 (1.1GB), but the difference in file size is significant.

i think that CQ=80 (1.4GB) is good enough.
that way you can stick 3 episodes onto 1 disc.
good work!!
your set will probably be the cleanest and sharpest one yet!
Eltinator: oh no, what happened to your infatuation with aya!?!?!

it's a sample of his capture...as to whether he'll be able to make it available online will have to depend on when he's able to get his DSL connection back (he's been on a 56k connection for the past 2 months since he had problems w/ his DSL)
Sounds familiar, but I haven't hung out at KIKU in a while...
Are you recording Trick3 as well, creidesca?
Lei no longer hangs out at the KIKU board, but at the C/J/K Dramas in California board, along w/ ravrono (who's capture of Trick 3 rivals that of Lei's, from looking at the screen cap he provided of the same pic of Yukie)
I'm taping it, but my reception of the station must be about the same as yours.
Lei's reception is wonderful, since he's using TiVo.
