I was put off in the first episode because it seemed too silly for words. 6 high-school kids versus gangs of evil men who are as brainless as the bunch of Japanese policemen sent after them; sounds impossible - but of course, the Yukan Club motto is 'To make the impossible, possible'. I persevered through the second and third episodes before I made my decision whether or not to continue bothering - and fortunately, I decided to go on with the show, because it does grow on you after a while. So what of the silliness and inherent stupidity and impossibility of it all. It's fun, exciting, sometimes downright scary, weird and idiotic. You can't take the storyline too seriously; you have to just go with the flow to really enjoy it.
The acting is so-so, and none of the six really stand out, though I was impressed by Taguchi Junnosuke's performance (this is the first time I've watched his drama). I loved Kage Takeshi's portrayal of the weird and wonderful Shochikubai Tokimune, and his comedic partnership with Kataoka Tsurutaro (Kenbishi Mansaku) is so funny.

i usually end up finishing dramas when i begin to watch them. But i dropped this, the only dorama that i ever dropped, after 3 episodes. Akahanshi Jin is not hot enough to keep me watching this. His nonchalant, "im cooler than you" motorcycle riding character pissed me off. the only funny person was the skinny eating everything girl. Even though the cast seems good, they were used in a horrible way. The plot was AWFUL. Its like a freaking detective story bullshit and it suked my nipples! You would think that there would be some crazy motive behind all of these cases, but they are as uninteresting, boring, and predictable as to the case of "why the 4 year old boy ate the chocolate". Maybe if your only 12 and you just found out that boys are hot, then you might watch it. But if you are looking for a dorama that as a little substance to it (just a little) then this is certainly NOT for you. The storyline itself is illogical. 6 brilliant rich students, who are more often than not skipping class (which respectful would ever allow that?), becoming detecives and always saving the day. To enjoy the drama more, you'll have to ignore this. Out of the 6 students, I enjoyed Yokoyama Yu's performance the most. The others are just average acting skills. There are funny moments and the characters do grow on you as you watch the series from episode to episode. If you want something substantial with more reality in it, this one isn't for you. COOL. The first episode was very impressive. But the rest was boring.
I love the settings,.. the places suits perfectly to this jdorama.
The story of the dorama (original from a popular manga) is sometimes exciting and interesting.
ACTORS: I was actually very surprised how good Yokoyama Yu (Kanjani8) suits to his role because I normaly saw him as a weak actor. He shows a totally different side and looks very good here.Normally he is always the genki and funny guy but here he plays the kind a mysterious+serious role very good.

Yukan Club was an absolutely enjoyable series, especially for someone who does not sit well with dramatic romance and cliche. I like being able to laugh at the dumbest, most illogical moments, and the characters both had their quirks and respectable qualities to them.
Though it was not realistic, it was captivating and did not have a single boring moment in it. There was romance, but there was nothing mushy and a turn off of the series.

Minus the fact that Jin and Junno, two members from the hugely popular band Kat-tun[Don't take this as trash talking! I love that group myself!], this was a really fun series. After a while you start to worry about the characters and get attached to them and at times want to smack them for the stupid things they've done. Each episode was different and always kinda left me hanging on to my seat to find out what happens. Just one question: if Bido Gramarie is the son of a Swedish embassateur, why the hell does he sometimes speak French? You can hear him saying stuff like "oui", "d'accord", etc...
Didn't the producers of the show knew that in Sweden they speak... Swedish!?

7/8 actually. I watched it 2 years ago, and it was kinda good cause i loooveed Akanishi Jin back then. Anyways, the plot is kinda cute, helping eachother and such. Otskaresamadeshita!Loved the series and didn't want it to end. I can't wait for a part 2 or even a movie. Rich kids make that bored rich kids sure know how to make their life exciting.I love all the members of Yukan Club, they made me laugh and cry and made me drool and faint. Best episode was 8 when Yoko, Junno and Jin were in drags. They were honto cho kawaii desu, really cute. And Jin Jin Jin, I love this Kat-tun guy so much.He wasn't even acting, he was just being his usual cool self.I want to be Miroku's lollipop. Yoko and Junno outdid themselves as Shisherou and Bidou and the ladies Emi, Minami and Knashii were not only pretty they were perfect in their roles.And there was the added bonus of heartthrobs Koyama Keiichiro and Mike He in episodes 6 and 7 which really rocked my world.The Jin Akanishi factor I have to admit made me watch this drama. I wanted to see more of Jin in dramas, movies, cms anything after that hiatus. This is your average teenage mystery drama. The mysteries are simple to solve and the characters are only superficial at best. You're given an introduction to the characters in the beginning of each episode and their personalities do not even waver one bit throughout the series. None of the characters are that great, but they do live up to the idea of being the coolest kids in a rich and fancy private school. Sadly, these types of dramas are being way overdone.
I'd recommend this drama to people who like KK and any of the other pretty boys and pretty girls in this drama. They get a lot of screen time. I also felt that KK's acting was striving to be similar to Kimura Takuya's. However, it's not very compelling and seems unrealistic and at times laughable (especially in the finale of the series). Not the best drama so far. I don't want to watch it at first because there is Jin inside it, but then change my mind when every members push me with words.."Yoko-chan did a very good job in here!"
After finish it, I totally agree with them. Can't believe Yokoyama-kun can act as a smart, cool and talented guy. Far different from his talkative and childish personality in Kanjani8. Not to biased but I think Yokoyama and Taguchi did a very good job compare to Jin (even Taguchi's role annoy me sometimes).
For the actress, its hard for me to choose between Minami and Kashii Yu. But, I prefer Kashii much more than Minami because, Minami is mirror of myself =P Noriko is such a wonderful and polite lady that every guy admired at, and I can't take my eyes over her even a minute. Good points??? Well... if you like JE you will probably like this dorama... not only they got Jin and Junno (from KAT-TUN) and Yoko (from Kanjani8) as the main characters... they also got that little boy from Hey!Say!Jump and Koyama (from NEWS)...
Nways... thats the only reason that i could found to watch this dorama. It started off good but was way too formulaic.. by the end I could tell everything they were going to say or do before the episode was even five minutes in. Then again, this is just a shits-and-giggles kind of comedy so I shouldn't have expected too much. Most of the characters got pretty annoying but I liked Seishiro and Miroku enough.. but even then, they had their annoying moments/episodes as well. I can't believe they repeated their stupid line about Yukan Club ever freaking episode. It was too much. Oh yeah, and the end was REALLY bad. Overall, I give it a 7.5. Their acting may seem lame or exaggerated at first but once you get used to it then you become interested. For me, it was around episode 8 that I really started to like this series. Kaga Takeshi was really hilarious on that episode. I guess, patience is a virtue, you just got to have the hang of it, so you can finish the entire series. But I must say that the story gets better after each episode (except ep5) and it was ended nicely.

COMPLETE. HS. omg. a drama with beautiful settings I can say. but a very loose plot. it just sooooo light and erm no real plot at all? Well, its not the best adaptation (still thinks that Nodame is the best adaptation by far). But its something that you would watch and enjoy when you have nothing else to watch (since there's nothing interesting from this season). The girls did an awesome job in potraying their characters (esp Minami and Kashii Yuu) while the boys...EErrr..they seriously need some acting lesson except Yoko. One of my first doramas. Fell in love with Jin after it. And with school & comedy doramas. Though 'Bido' is really annoing and there could be more of ...err... forgot the name)... 'Miroku's friend who is 1st love of men-hating heroine & who leaves for another town'.

Funny, entertaining and truly likable. I love that all of them have crushes, but are unable to get with the ones they adore -rare in most dramas.
However with Yukan Club, romance is not the main focus, as it goes on about the boredom of 6 wealthy high schoolers and how they solve crime.

Hilarious!!!!!! This didn't need any romance, it had Akanishi and Taguchi!! The yukan club is so funny and cute. The story, actors, atmosphere all of them were excellent!!
