1. | Comments by temmahkrik [Rating: 5/10] I'm in the middle of episode 8, and I'm not sure how I feel about this. I like Kazuya a lot, but the whole "BUSUNAKO! BUSUNAKO! BUSUNAKO!" thing is getting really, really old. The first couple of times I got it, but it's like, "Really? Every single time Kyohei says it Sunako's going to think he's serious and try to blow things up with lightning?"
I was going to write a kind of meh review of the show until I started episode 8 though. The scenes with Kyohei's family nearly had me in tears.
Oh, and I'll give it to the theme song. Very catchy. Will be in my head for a month.
*EDIT* - Okay, now I've finished it. The last three episodes were much more serious than the first seven, which I actually liked. I know this was a comedy, but sometimes it was har dto suspend my disbelief, even though I'd seen much sillier dorama before. There were genuinely touching moments toward the end of the series. I will say (spoiler-free) that I HATED the "twist" in the last episode, but the final scene in Sunako's room was so sweet it nearly made up for that.
I won't watch this one again, though. |
2. | Comments by strawberrynkiwi [Rating: 8/10] Wallflower is one of the only manga I enjoy now-a-days. So the original story and characters, especially Kyohei holds a really special place in my heart. When I found out Kame was playing Kyohei I was pretty bummed out, because Kame didn't fit the physical part. I honestly don't think Kyohei exist for me in the real world. But I'm a fan of Kame, so I decided to watch it anyways. It was entertaining, even though they changed the story and character quite a bit to fit a drama length. Kyohei being so emotional is totally not cool with me, but I think after the 2nd episode, I saw it as a separate story than the manga. Other than that, the kiss was done really well at the end. Kame, Tegoshi and Uchi was such eye candy :) |
3. | Comments by compaqmac321 [Rating: 10/10] ppl....is it just me? or was this show WAY better than it should be........ummmm, why is the story so deep? it makes you THINK its silly and stupid...but its just an exaggerated way of telling you beauty is more than whats on the outside...(clap clap) bravo, this show turned out to be great..acting, check, character development, check, story, check...good job people, im glad i kept watching. those of you who dropped it pick it back up and pay attention, great ending! |
4. | Comments by sasukekun6 [Rating: 9/10] Based off one of my favorite manga series~ I really really enjoyed this take on it. Obviously they had to age everyone up, but it didn't bother me. I think that Kamenashi did a great job of Kyohei, but honestly, my favorite was Oomasa Aya's Sunako. She did a fantastic job of potraying Sunako. Her acting was perfect! It was a really funny, interesting drama! |
5. | Comments by SweetchillixD [Rating: 9/10] I don't know why this drama seems to be passing under the radar. The underlying concepts and overall message may not be novel - but what is these days? Doesn't take away the entertainment value. I loved watching this drama! Funny, heart-warming and inexplicably fascinating. Great performances by the cast - especially Kamenashi Kazuya and Oomasa Aya! |
6. | Comments by PaperCaged [Rating: 5/10] They completely changed the story and characters from one of my favorite manga series. Sunako and Kyohei were turned into big melodramatic babies. I did not really like this show at all. They used the same stories over and over (possessed by ghosts, save Sunako from trouble all the time), and the ending was completely predictable. |
7. | Comments by tachan [Rating: 6/10] The first and last episodes were really great! I loved how whenever they call her ugly, she is good enough to fight with the boys. The middle episodes are of varying quality. I'd say the comedy-style is similar to Hana-Kimi and other manga adaptations. |
8. | Comments by eyasblue [Rating: 4/10] Predictable storyline that is also erratic and hard to swallow (a guy who is disowned for being too handsome? Four handsome guys living in one clean mansion without much care in the world?) I liked it for the humor and good looking actors. |
9. | Comments by Sun_Shang_Xiang [Rating: 7/10] This drama is a bit hard to rate some episdoes were pretty much fluff whilst some were fairly touching. After having seen Aya Oomasa in Misaki number one, I hardly recognized here, which means I guess she must be doing something right. |
10. | Comments by ayehunny [Rating: 7/10] OK. Felt like a long time ago I've seen Kamenashi Kazuya act in a romance drama, and I enjoyed it. But the story and lines in themselves are too childish for me to give it higher than 7. BUT, I really did enjoy watching this drama. |
11. | Comments by x_XJules [Rating: 1/10] I watched 20 minutes of the first episode and hated it. I read the manga and I really liked it, ya know, when I was 16-18 y/o. I'm just too old for these types of doramas. Johnny's aren't enough to make a series anymore. |
12. | Comments by williu [Rating: 7/10] Rather high production value but the script is just as poor as the acting... but that is natural, I guess, based on that it's one of those anime-dramas that can only appeal to teen girls without any critical thinking... |
13. | Comments by Peggie [Rating: 8/10] This was really good and addictive, but I prefer the manga over the drama and the anime.... it lets me live the story more.... but brilliant and worth the watch!!
Watching it again made me "discover" Tegoshi Yuya! XD |
14. | Comments by wanderingfish7 [Rating: 7/10] I watched this drama because of kame and tegoshi. Of course, the other two guys are good too. The plot is funny, i bet the manga should be more interesting to read. The worst part is that I really don't like that girl. |
15. | Comments by Hisagi101 [Rating: 6/10] I love this manga and was really looking forward to seeing this. Unfortunately there was too much dialog and not enough action. It got a bit boring towards the end. Still worth watching though as it's funny. |
16. | Comments by Chimar [Rating: 5/10] Oomasa's screams after being called Busunako are REALLY annoying. She also tries too hard to have a gloomy voice and it just sounds manly and disgusting. A lot of the plot is pretty unrealistic. |
17. | Comments by raynawashere [Rating: 10/10] i love this drama. i just finished watching it. like 10 seconds ago. OMG OMG OMG OMG I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!! BEST DRAMA EVERRRR!!! SERIOUSLY!!! I TOTALLY LOVE IITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT :D |
18. | Comments by Di@na [Rating: 9/10] Funny, romantic and a great cast! Johnnys overload! I liked the manga and I think the live action dorama was as good as the manga was. Especially because of Kame's playful charm. |
19. | Comments by simpletoad [Rating: 7/10] i still dont find her pretty, and i really disliked that ladyboy in the boarding house, and certain episode were pretty lame. but thumbs up for kamenashi's acting. |
20. | Comments by C-yber Rhapzody [Rating: 10/10] Kamenashi Kazuya - Takano Kyohei ^
Oomasa Aya - Nakahara Sunako ^
Tegoshi Yuya - Toyama Yukinojo ^
Uchi Hiroki - Oda Takenaga ^
Miyao Shuntaro - Morii Ranmaru |
21. | Comments by v1olet [Rating: 6/10] I think this dorama is kind of weird and funny, and I don't tbink that horror-lady is beautiful. I watched this dorama because of Kame. He's a good actor. |
22. | Comments by pinkokoro [Rating: 6/10] not bad for a time pass, but not something u would pick up for 2nd or 3rd time viewing. it's ok while it lasts, but not a memorable one. |
23. | Comments by ScrappedShinigami [Rating: ?/10] Watching... loving it so far, even though I was worried about the cast. I really love the main girl ^^ hope it ties up nicely <3 |
24. | Comments by room304 [Rating: 2/10] awful, BAD acting, bad editing, bad writing, bad soundtrack and it's not even funny *shudder* go watch hana kimi instead |
25. | Comments by shinjitsu [Rating: 6/10] Childish. Ridiculous and stupid ending. Ghosts possessing people storylines (yes it is plural) ... yet had its moments |
26. | Comments by karmanova [Rating: 7/10] very sweet drama with some really cute scenes. watched it for tegoshi but ended up liking kame's character more, lol. |
27. | Comments by Wesu [Rating: 7/10] Fun 'popcorn' drama. Pretty funny!
Oh, and sometimes in this Kame looks like Kimutaku... it's kinda freaky lol. |
28. | Comments by cutesawada [Rating: 5/10] kame's acting disappoints me one drama after another...... maybe i thought he was better than he actually is |
29. | Comments by mammothb [Rating: 6/10] good development in characters. well the ending is abit..... you know, got to watch it for yourself |
30. | Comments by Yuuki MatsuMiya [Rating: 6/10] Crazy and funny drama! I found it because of Tegoshi Y. That girl, though, was too weirdo!!! |
