Oomori Toru, a depressed, pathetic salary man who was left at the alter by his bride, finds himself demoted to the position of President at Sweet Bridal, a wedding planning company with a staff filled primarily by women.

I loved watching this drama. I can�ft exactly pinpoint how much I loved it, nor can I find any fault with it that is worth mentioning.
This is the only drama I�fve seen that had me shedding tears and laughing out load. My heart pulsed when the characters were feeling extreme emotions, and it flew when they were having a good time.
The line-up for this drama is great. Yusuke Santamaria was HILARIOUS. Although he was clearly outshone by the ladies in the drama (considering he was the main character), it seemed almost intentional. After all, giving his character too much of the lime-light would have ruined his appeal. This was my first drama with Iijima Naoko and she�fs left me completely stunned. Not only is she incredibly beautiful (if only I had hair like hers!) but she was great in both the comedic moments AND the dramatic. Her feelings towards her son and his well-being were very convincing and it was easy to forget that she was just acting. Kimura Yoshino played my favourite character. She was perfectly cast as the classy, mature, seemingly-perfect, yet soft and vulnerable Misaki. She had brilliant chemistry with Abe Hiroshi, with whom I�fm madly in love and therefore words are not enough to express how much I enjoyed his performance. I did not enjoy Tsumabuki Satoshi�fs character, which means his acting was superb (how can anyone not enjoy his yumminess?).
The storyline and plot for this drama were both solid. The relationships between varying characters were subtle and handled with care. Each major character got equal exposure and were brilliantly developed.

Innitially I didn't think much of Wedding Planner. The premise seemed lame and the lead actor reminded me of this annoying guy in my high school. I thought the girls were even worse. However, for some reason I held onto the show for over a year and on a whim started watching one day. It follows the standard episodic frame of most doramas, but it just does it in a more interesting and hillarious way. What really made this show stand out, was when Toru would go home for dinner. His family was absolute comedy - they should consider making a show about them. Episode 8 was probably the single funniest episode of a show I've seen in a long time... if you had to watch only one ep, watch that one. Overall, I give it an 8.5. This is a fun-to-watch comedy. This dorama has a high quality cast with a lot of popular and famous dorama actors and addresses. In general, this is one smooth comedy with a good blend of funny and touching moments. Iijma Naoko is just beautiful and her comedy skill is as good as ever. A thoroughly enjoyable jdorama with a strong emphasis on character development. Plots were well written culminating in a satisfying but anticipated ending. Characters were quite endearing and the cast did a great job portraying them with laughs interspersed throughout. The advice meetings seemed a bit out of place I found but did give the drama some 'spicing up'. An enjoyable romantic comedy about a small wedding planning company and the unlikely group who run it.
I did not fully feel the love story aspect of the drama so much. The chemistry did not feel real to me or I would have given it a 10. This drama will not be as memorable as my others, but still it was the best yet in my 2003 summer drama marathon. It's a cute love story, with a goofy male lead, but a fine woman (women) leads. I'd give this series an 8.5. The characters are very endearing and the cast is just wonderful. I didn't expect much when I first started this series since I related the title of the drama to JLo's movie. Bleh. Luckily, this was nothing like that.
This series is a lot about marriage - both the beautiful things about it and the uglier things, such as divorce and the difficult topic of children who are in situations where the parents are divorced. Each episode focuses on a certain marriage, but the transitions are done so wonderfully and seamlessly that the series doesn't become episodic. One of the big pluses to this drama is the dose of comedy that it has, especially between the two leads.
Another great thing about this drama is the cast of great actors and actresses involved including Iijima Naoko, Yusuke Santamaria, Kimura Yoshino, Tsumabuki Satoshi, Abe Hiroshi, and even Uchida Yuki. I really enjoyed this drama and would highly recommend it both for the touching wedding scenes, the strengthening relations between the group of wedding planners, and the hilarious therapy sessions amongst middle-aged men. Initially I wrote off this drama but upon a second look it has a notable cast made up almost entirely of actors I've enjoyed over the years. This is an older drama and I've noticed how significantly the style of dramas has changed in the past ten years or so. This series was much more episodic than I was used to seeing as well. The dynamic between the characters was very compartmentalized, and I was a bit disappointed at the inaccuracy of Sweet Bridal's day-to-day business. The ending of the series, though sweet, still felt rushed through. The last few episodes of the series felt far too plot heavy and it would've been better to gradually work through things. Oh well. All-time favorite!
There's something so sweet and cute about this love comedy. You get a different love story each time, and some very interesting views into different styles of modern, personal style weddings... but you also have one of THE best casts ever in any drama with all their problems. It normally is a tragic formula for lack of focus on certain characters in other dramas, but WP gives each character equal time to resolve their conflicts. For once, Yusuke Santamaria's blend of seriousness/comedy worked well... Iijima Naoko & Kimura Yoshino are also great as Kanako and Misaki. An extremely enjoyable romantic comedy series with some great acting by all the main characters. The series mixed comedy and romance very well and the plot progressed smoothly. Anyways, this drama is so cute...the way the two main characters fight is just...haha...you know. I really liked the show in general. The way they save wedding disasters from happening is just so touching. It will really be worth your time. This light-hearted comedy was one of the better ones in terms of casting and subplots. While it is one of those quick-pace type of dramas, it still managed to make me care about the characters.

The first episode won me over with the no luck Toru gettin the dad to come to the impossible 100,000 yen wedding planned by Kanako and crew. The detail of the family flower photo being the same as the wedding was a very nice touch that made me want to watch more. The theme music is a very nice song too. | | 4. | effronterie
